The Midnight Juggernauts remixes VHS or Beta. Knightlife remixes the Bag Raiders.

Most of the people we know, believe that the VHS or Beta album wasn't as good as everyone expected. We haven't heard any good reviews from the "Bring on the Comets" album and personally I feel disappointed with it. Obviously "Bring on the comets" still has that essence and some good songs, but after hearing Le Funk and Night on Fire we thought the album was going to be just a instant classic. But there are always good news! We just got this remix do
ne by Midnight Juggernauts! it is for "Burn it all Down" and there are also remixes done by Surkin and Fred Falke. Can the Juggernauts save the universe? ha not really...
We also want to share another great remix. The Bag Raiders just released their EP that includes remixes from ZZZ and Whitenoise. This time the Knightlife guys did something extraordinary hope you like it!!

In the news....we also can tell you that Boys Noize did the Lights and Music remix for Cut Copy. We also received new awesome remixes from Saint Pauli and we will be posting it this week.

Thanks Neonskyline

Moonbootica

These guys are not new upcomers. They've been around for a while as Dj's and producers.

Tobias Schmidt aka Tobitob & Oliver Kowalski aka KoweSix, are the masterminds behind Moonbotica. They have a Hip-Hop background and have been involved in German music and dj'ing since early 2000. Their sound has seen a long and noticeable evolution. From Hip-Hop beats to Minimal and now Electro. It has changed so much, that if you compare their early releases to the most recent, you'll see what I'm talking about. In 2001 they started their own label, Moonbootique bringing artists like them to light.

Moonbootica is something of a legend in their own lifetime. They have played with, produced and remixed the best. Names like Planet Funk, Tiga and Mando Diao are liberally sprinkled across their C.V.

Following on from their 2005 debut LP, Moonbootica has just released their second album “Moonlight Welfare” . I'll leave you a track of this album. Hope you like it.

Enjoy!

Narctrax

Continuing on what we call the Neon Talent, Wayfarer already posted some material from our friend Narctrax, the Starlett Johansson Remix, and since in The Neon Rider we are all about quality and supporting upcomers, we decided to know a litte bit more about Narctrax and here is what he told us.

3YO: Name and where are you from?

N: Eddie Van Narc and I'm actually half japanese, grew up in NY, now I´m based in Japan but I've been going back and forth from NY to Tokyo all my life.

3YO: For how long have you been producing music?

N: We have been going on since January 2007, we are currently a 2 piece band, I play live with a guitarist, his name is Zsa and I basically compose and produce all the music. I have been djing for quite some time now, and it was an obvious step to eventually start making my own music and have a reason to play some live gigs and have some fun.

3YO: Plans for '08?

N: I'm currently busy working on remixes, but will stop that soon to continue working on some new material for 08. Narctrax is a band concept, this is the direction I want to take it. I don't wanna be just a remixer.

3YO: Your Influences?

N: Jean Michel Jarre, Alden Tyrel, Goblin, Elo, Blancmange, The Droids among others. Although I Love the old underground Italo Disco I don't want to remake that old stuff I want to experiment more with those 80's sounds to come up with something fresh and new...

3YO: Well, thanks for the info and the support

N: Hope this helps!

We want to thank Narctrax for all these and for the tracks he sent us. I'm leaving you some of his first stuff back in 06 and the last two are from last year but I'll bet that you won't stop listening to them, addictive stuff and believe me when I say high recomendation by theneonrider.

Enjoy!

The Neon rider presents you from Berlin POLLY ASPERS. Inspired by old video game soundtracks, Jarre, Bladerunner, Michael Jackson and 8 bit music Polly Aspers sounds will make you feel like living in a videogame. Users that experiment with Polly Aspers music will feel again what is like to be in the last level of any good 8 bit videogame!

Our friends The Cryptonites, send us a nice remix of Drugs in my body by Thieves like us, (it has nothing to do with the kitsune remix contest) and we want to share it with you. Also they told us they expect to release their new material by late march/april on their own label.

Coachella

Ok people another year another Coachella. Yesterday they made it official in an event in Mexico City. Here's the official line up for this year.

Pretty cool line-up, we have new comebacks, old comebacks and a lot of better bands than last year. Incredible that Kraftwerk is back! that's a must see show people. And we've all been waiting for Portishead.

They also announced that there's going to be a new East Coast festival. On Aug. 8-10, they, working in conjunction with the New York nightclub the HighLine Ballroom, will mount the first All Points West Music & Arts Festival at Liberty State Park.

Dozens of pop and rock acts will perform on three or four stages, though the co-producers are not ready to announce the lineup. They anticipate crowds of 25,000-30,000 per day. Check the whole article here.

And big Congrats to our friends from Austin TV who are playing this year in Coachella.

Scarlett Johansson's now directing!

Scarlett Johansson decided she's too hot for acting and decided to start directing. And she's doing it big time with directors such as Woody Allen, Zach Braff, Mira Nair, Brett Ratner, Anthony Minghella and more. The movie is called "New York, I Love You", it will include 12 shortfilms of the different directors and it will be produced by Anthony Minghella (Paris, J'Taime") and will have the same creative idea of love stories but it will take place in Manhattan.

We know everything she does can't be wrong right?

Ok so there's always an excuse to leave some music. And it obviously has something to be with Scarlett.

Air Force 1

Since Bruce Kilgore creation in 1982 as the first basketball shoe with air technology, we have seen many variations of the Air Force 1 and we know that Nike stopped production in 1982, in 86 they started it again and appllied some variation to the shoe and in 87 Air Force 2's where released as a casual and fashionable item, which also had a relaunch in the early 2000's bringing attention to new young customers.

After a glimpse of history, here I have what got me talking about Air Force 1´s, is Australian director Christopher Riggert with the new campaign for Nike launched this January 2008 in Australia . Christopher Riggert is a professional photographer who works as a commercial director in Radical Media in the Sydney area, he used to work as an art director at The Glue Society and also did many jobs as a freelancer for different companies in various countries. He has also done commercials for companies like Brother and Westfield but this new baby is the best.

A great combination of movement, music and lightning, I'll let you be the judge in this but I found it amazing.

Enjoy!

Neon Pop

We know there is time to listen to all types of music, we know that when you're at work you wan't to concentrate, when you're at beach you want to read, and even when someone has sex or smoke they want to hear something relaxing! And that's why we present these great artists that might not be new but have amazing easy going sounds for different situations.

San Serac- If you like Chromeo you'll love this guy!

Popular Computer-Nostalgia and Modernity combined with easy going electro.

Tigercity Fresh Pop disco sounds from Brooklyn New York

Codebreaker- Nice funk guitars combined with smooth basslines and a great voice

Maethelvin-More fresh retro sounds from the Valerie Collective you'll just love it.

Futurecop- Videogames combined with 80s TV themes can you ask for more?

Jimmy Edgar Music you want to hear when having sex

Please take a time to visit their pages they do amazing stuff
Anyway, here's a song so you can relax while reading the neon rider.

Bloody Detroit

If you haven't heard about The Bloody Beetroots before, you better catch up. This italian punk duo are everywhere now, they've done remixes for, Timbaland, Etienne De Crecy, Captain Phoenix, Goose, Metallica, and more...they even have the remix of Escape by Toxic Avenger on the new Need for Speed video-game. Every song they touch they make it a better version of it.

But Today they send us a new song that I'm sure is coming on their upcoming EP. The song is Detroit, and it has all the elements which these guys are known for (not the chipmunks voices though). Banging electro at its best. And if you've never heard these guys you better start looking for their music, because they are going to explode in 2008.

As always a double treat, remembering...

DANGER!

So a New Year arrives and the Neon Rider is getting a lot of support, thanx for that!

Predictions for 2008....... a lot of comebacks, softmore albums, and the climax of the electro sound in the mainstream market... after 2 years. I strongly believe that this year we're going to see better bands, better newcomers, and new twists in music, and I'm loving the fact that the boundaries between genres are getting less and less defined. So keep your eyes open for that or just come back to The Neon Rider and we'll keep you updated.

Danger is the name, and his sound is dangerous. This guy is from France and he's bringing the best of the post -ultra- we -are- so -tired -hyped -ed -bangers- movement. He mixes cool vocals with a rock sound, and synthesizes like the best, it has a Boys Noize-ish sound but with a twist, and it's not your typical nu-disco-electro sound. This guy has a whole concept, he is a comic book character and his tracks are named after an specific time. Check his EP that was released by Elekroshock.

And of course a double treat for you. The Data remix of 11h30.

Oh! by the way we are renovating our myspace page so go on and check it out and add The Neon Rider as your friend.

Can´t Get It

Who is Von Südenfed?, it consists in a trio formed by Andi Toma, Jan St Werner (Mouse on Mars) and Mark E Smith (leader of The Fall). In their debut album "Tromatic Reflexxions" they decided to mix disco, dubsteb and electro elements to confirm a blasting sound that obviously will blow your head off in the dance floor. Although they released this album in summer 2007, seems like they haven´t had the attention that they deserve and probably you haven´t heard them in much mixes, but I highly recommend you to download this song, check the quality and make your own judgement.

I hope you enjoy it and I totally recommend to get the full length album that is out on Domino Recording Company.
