HWD Halloween Mixtape!

It's been a mixtape week here at The Neon Rider, and now is the turn of our friends of Heads We Dance with the coolest mixtape of Halloween History, nice touches from horror classics and also a nice selection of Neon Talents. It includes an EXCLUSIVE Heads We Dance Remix of John Carpenter's Theme From Halloween, some CREEPY classics and some FREAKY fresh cuts! Grab it and dance to it in your favorite Halloween party, hopefully dressed as Daniel San in the shower custom. And quoting Yoni "Have a Terrifying weekend".

Never too late

Ok, sometimes we feel disconnected, but is never too late to show you some tracks we love or listened a while ago . We spend a lot of time trying to select the songs we want to share with you, because we know you are very selective too!

This time we selected three artists with the usual sounds from the neon stereo (classy retro and sexual) some really fine tunes we know you'll love. The first one comes from the English producers Mock & Toof (DFA, Tiny Sticks), then also from the UK The Mount Cherries (Sunday's Best) and for last Peace Fire introduced by our friends from Discodust. Is Mock & toof going to be the surprise of this year? is Peace and Fire going to still releasing songs in a couple of years? Will the guys from The mount cherries release new material soon? We don't know, but in the meanwhile ,we will enjoy these fine tunes.

Ghost in the Water

Today it's turn for Ghost in the Water a great act from Minneapolis. The band is formed by Nathan and Mandy Tensen Woolery, they are a married couple making great sounds and amazing vocals together in this new act. They have been making music for a long time, formerly as Fitzgerald an indie pop band. Two years ago they decided to turn to another direction and that's how Ghost in the Water started.

We asked them about some of their influences and we found many styles mixed there, eighties bands like The Cure, Talk Talk, Siouxsie,Prince and also some contemporaries like Bjork, The Go Find, Styrofoam and the Radio Dept. They just released their debut album called "Tooth", it´s a really smooth record filled with smooth sounds like violins, guitars combined with melodic electro and vocals that fit just right. It's a great album to be on your car driving by yourself, on the beach watching the sunset or in your bedroom reading a book. I suggest that you go to itunes, emusic or amazon and buy it, keep the hype aside for a bit and enjoy this remarcable work.

I'm leaving you two gifts, the first one is from their album Tooth and it's called "I'm not Afraid of falling", sit back, relax and enjoy it. The other one is called Hallucination, it's not on the album and it has a different style, but it's my personal favorite and I know that you're not going to be able to stop listening to it.
